    Description

This gorgeous and very elegant pressed glass cake stand (salver) measures 10" diameter
    x
7 1/4"H. The cake surface top is completely smooth and has a center opening called a rum well (designed to keep the cake moist) that is approximately 1 1/2" diameter x 1 1/4" deep.
The Constellation pattern is formed under the surface of the top and the exterior of the pedestal. When flipped upside down the pedestal becomes a cup approximately 5" deep by 5 1/4" in diameter, perfect for a flower arrangement above with desserts or sandwiches on the tray created below (or serve dip and crackers, etc!).
The open cup is smooth inside (easy for cleaning) and the pattern is on the outside surface. The tray thus created by the drop scallop border is approximately 1" Deep. In perfect condition, this lovely original glass cake pedestal is beautiful, well-made and durable, weighing almost five lbs. Manufactured by Indiana Glass Company, Dunkirk, Indiana, c. 1940, "Constellation" is Pattern No. 300.
