Patches being leather is traced back to WW1. At this period, the soldiers were using the leather patches to protect themselves while crawling in the trenches and on the ground. During WW2, the pilots began using the leather jacket patches to identify themselves from other pilots.
The history of both of these ideas led us to use the World Famous Thunderbirds for our first leather patch concept. If you would like to design your own custom patches, contact us .
